Integrasi Artificial Intelligence dalam Pembelajaran di Sekolah Menengah Pertama: Studi Kualitatif di Kota Banda Aceh

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in teaching and learning processes at junior high schools (SMP) in Banda Aceh, focusing on pedagogical practices, user experiences, and institutional dimensions. A qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews with school principals, teachers, and students, and document analysis. Data were analyzed thematically through processes of reduction, categorization, and interpretation. The findings reveal that AI integration contributes to more adaptive learning environments, enhances assessment efficiency through instant feedback, and fosters students’ independent learning. However, its implementation remains suboptimal due to several challenges, including limited teacher competence and unequal access to technological resources. These constraints indicate that AI adoption in educational settings requires not only technological availability but also pedagogical readiness and institutional support. This study contributes to the growing body of knowledge on AI in education by providing empirical insights into its practical implementation in a local context, while offering a contextual framework for strengthening AI integration in secondary education systems.
