Abstract

This study aims to develop STEM-based Student Worksheets (LKPD) on addition and subtraction material to improve the numeracy skills of first-grade elementary school students. The study uses a Research and Development approach with reference to the ADDIE model. Data collection techniques use observation, validation sheets (material expert validation, media expert validation, teacher responses, and student responses), tests (pretest and posttest), and documentation. The subjects of the study were first-grade students of SD Islam International Al Abidin Surakarta. Data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive data analysis techniques. The results of the study showed that the LKPD was declared very appropriate or valid for learning, with a score obtained from material experts of 90%, and from media experts of 95%. In its use, the LKPD received a very good response from teachers and students with a score on the practicality test of teacher responses of 93.75% which was stated to be very practical. The results for student responses obtained a score of 90.625% which can be categorized as practical LKPD for students. These results certainly impact students' comprehension of addition and subtraction, with an average pretest score of 71.25 and a posttest score of 91.67. There was a difference between the pretest and posttest scores. The average score increased by 20.42 points, concluding that the use of STEM-based worksheets can improve students' numeracy skills.
