Pengembangan Instrumen Penilaian Kompetensi Pengelola Laboratorium IPA SMP Berdasarkan SKKNI

This study aims to develop and validate a competency assessment instrument for junior high school science laboratory managers based on the Indonesian National Competency Work Standards (SKKNI). The instrument was designed to measure six key dimensions: Educational Institution Governance, Quality Document Governance, Occupational Safety and Health (K3), Waste Management, Classification and Handling of Chemicals, and Basic Science Laboratory Skills. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the Four-D model (define, design, develop, and disseminate). Construct validity was examined through Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), while reliability was assessed using Cronbach's Alpha. A total of 40 initial items were tested on 111 respondents who served as laboratory managers or were assigned to manage science laboratories in junior high schools. Data were analyzed using Mplus version 7. The CFA results indicated that 38 items met the validity criteria, with factor loadings exceeding 0.50. The measurement model demonstrated good fit indices, and the reliability analysis yielded a Cronbach's Alpha coefficient of 0.979, indicating excellent internal consistency. The findings confirm that the developed instrument is both valid and reliable for measuring the competence of junior high school science laboratory managers. This instrument provides an empirically validated tool for competency evaluation. It supports the implementation of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programs to systematically and sustainably enhance laboratory management practices.
