Abstract

This study aims to identify research trends, the types of digital media, and the local wisdom elements integrated into elementary school learning, and their impact on students' cognitive learning outcomes. The research employs the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Data were collected using Publish or Perish (PoP) software via the CrossRef and Google Scholar databases, with inclusion criteria limited to articles published between 2016 and 2025. A total of 25 articles were selected for their substantive relevance to local wisdom-based digital media and cognitive outcomes, which were subsequently analyzed using descriptive qualitative methods and bibliometric analysis in VOSviewer. The findings indicate that various previous studies conclude that the use of local wisdom-based digital learning media, particularly educational videos, digital comics, and Articulate Storyline-based interactive media, is effective in enhancing students' cognitive learning outcomes. In these studies, the most frequently integrated cultural elements include socio-cultural values, the local environment, and regional arts. Bibliometric analysis confirms that local wisdom, learning outcomes, and elementary school are the primary focuses, with a shifting trend toward digital innovation. The conclusion shows that a synthesis of various literature demonstrates that the use of local wisdom-based digital media can strengthen cognitive understanding while instilling cultural values in elementary school students.
